Admissions

Admissions at Better Days Are a Breeze

Every substance abuse recovery success story begins with an admission process. It’s when you’ll do the administrative work that needs to be done before you’re able to begin receiving the treatment that will transform your life.

But not all admissions processes are created equal. That’s why you should choose Better Days. We offer a streamlined admissions process so that you can begin receiving treatment for your mental health problems or substance abuse issues as soon as possible.

Keep reading to find an overview of our admissions process and to learn what you need to do to complete it. Or, reach out to us at (844) 991-3135 to receive personalized advice that’s targeted to your unique situation.

Things to Do Before Contacting Us

We recommend that you take a few preparatory steps before you reach out to us. Doing so will help your entire admissions process run more efficiently.

To start, you should have some idea of the type of treatment that you’d like to receive. We offer a variety of care plans to consider. So do some research on our website to see which sounds best to you. That may or may not be the treatment plan that we ultimately recommend for you, but it’ll give you a better sense of what you’d like your recovery process to look like.

Additionally, you’ll want to have your insurance information ready to go. One of the key steps in the admissions process is our verification of your insurance. If you have this for us right away, then we can begin checking it right away to make sure that you don’t have to pay the full costs of your treatment out-of-pocket.

Get in Touch

Once you’ve figured out what treatment plan you’d like to pursue and have your insurance ready for us to verify, you’re ready to get in touch with us. The easiest way to do that is by giving us a call at (844) 991-3135. When you do, you’ll be greeted by one of our addiction specialists.

You’ll spend some time speaking to our specialists and providing them with your basic information. This won’t be an in-depth interview. That will come later. But it will give us the chance to get to know you and to develop an understanding of what it is you’re struggling with and what you’d like to achieve with the help of Better Days.

Let us Verify Your Insurance

After your initial phone call is complete, we’ll begin the process of verifying your insurance. The last thing we want is for you to have to pay for all of your treatment yourself. So we’ll do all that we can to ensure that your insurance company is providing you with the coverage that you deserve.

You don’t have to do anything during this part of the admissions process. Just give us some time to talk with your insurance company and we’ll get back in touch when we’re ready to move forward with your admittance to Better Days. The process shouldn’t take us more than 1-2 business days, so you’ll be able to move forward with the admissions process very quickly.

Complete Your Phone Assessment

When your insurance verification is complete, you’re ready to conduct a more in-depth phone assessment with one of our staff physicians. You should be prepared to answer some more detailed questions about the problems that you’ve been struggling with and the state of your physical and mental health.

The staff member that you speak with will take all of the information that you give them and use it to provide you with a personalized treatment recommendation. They’ll tell you what they think will work best for someone in your situation so that you can make an informed decision about the type of care that you receive from us.

During your phone assessment, you’ll get to ask any questions that you may have about the treatment programs at Better Days. We’ll tell you everything that you need to know so that you can figure out the treatment path that you’d like to follow.

Get Started with Treatment

Once you’ve completed your phone assessment, you’ll be ready to begin the treatment plan that you’ve selected. If you haven’t yet, then you’ll need to complete a detox before you can begin one of our IOPs, PHPs, or other outpatient plans.

Detox is an important phase of your treatment. It’s when your body will remove the last traces of the substance that you’ve been abusing. You need to go through it so that you have time to readjust and rebalance before you begin receiving care that addresses the root causes of your issue.

Once detox is complete, you’ll begin working with our therapists. They’ll help you explore what’s been causing your substance dependency problem and what you can do about it. Better Days uses a reality-based model, which teaches you how to live a sober life by using your lived experiences.

You’ll also get to participate in our group activities. We take full advantage of our facility’s beautiful location in Southern California. During your time with us, you’ll get to join us on the many different outings that we lead in the city and its surrounding areas.

This part of your treatment will also give you the chance to connect with the other patients we’re treating. You can learn from their experiences and benefit from the social support that they’ll provide you with. Studies have found that this is an important part of working towards a sober lifestyle.
