How We Treat

Experience The Better Days Difference

Choosing where you’ll pursue treatment for substance abuse is nearly as important as making the decision to look for professional help in the first place. This is because treatment centers vary greatly in how they design their rehabilitation plans. So if you want to get as much out of the care that you receive as possible, then it’s worth taking some time to find a facility that can meet your personalized needs.

Better Days could be just what you’ve been looking for. We use a unique approach in addiction treatment, which balances freedom and structure in powerful ways. Below, you’ll learn all about our treatment philosophy and how you can benefit from it.

When you’re ready to get started, or if you want to hear more, just give us a call at (844) 991-3135 and we’ll be happy to provide you with more information.

Our Philosophy

Better Days uses a proprietary treatment methodology called Reality-Based Recovery. It’s a model that uses the lived experiences of those who have struggled with substance abuse to heal them.

For example, a patient might mention to us that they’ve struggled with maintaining their sobriety in a certain situation. If so, we’ll explore that situation together. We’ll analyze why it makes you feel compelled to use drugs or alcohol and what you can do differently to avoid giving in to those temptations the next time they strike.

Our method allows our residents to live in co-ed facilities, where they’re free to access electronic devices and have approved access to their finances. Neither of these things is possible at most treatment centers.

We allow them because we know that temptation is everywhere. It’s our belief that you should learn how to deal with it while you’re in a supervised setting where you can be taught how to deal with it. This helps prepare our patients to face temptation without breaking from it when they reenter the real world.

Why Therapy Matters

Therapy forms the foundation of each treatment plan we offer. This is because it’s an essential part of the healing process for everyone who’s struggled with drug or alcohol abuse.

Your work with a therapist will help you to understand the root causes of your addiction. You won’t be able to beat those causes if you can’t name them, and that’s exactly what your therapist will help you with. They’ll also help you come up with strategies that you can use to overcome those problems in healthier ways.

Having access to this kind of support is a critical component of your long-term sobriety. That’s why we emphasize it early and often in our treatment programs.

The Importance of Group Activities

At Better Days, we believe in the importance of fun. It’s critical that you get to experience what a joy a sober lifestyle can be while you’re with us, as you’ll be more likely to maintain it in the future if you understand this.

The only way to provide this understanding is through experience. That’s why we regularly lead our residents on group activities in Southern California and the surrounding areas. These are an important part of our treatment plans.

Group activities are beneficial for another reason, too. They also give you the chance to connect with the other residents who are participating in your treatment plan. This will give you the chance to learn from their experiences and to mutually benefit from social support during the recovery process.

A Wide Variety of Treatments to Choose From

We understand that substance abuse recovery programs can never be a one-size-fits-all solution. That’s why we offer a wide variety of different treatment options for our patients to consider.

Here are some of the options that are available to you:

  • Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)
  • Intensive Outpatient Care (IOP)
  • Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
  • Dual-Diagnosis
  • Outpatient Care
  • And more

Targeted Care to Meet Your Needs

Not only do we offer many different programs to choose from, but we’re also capable of customizing them to meet your specific needs.

For example, you might be someone who we feel would benefit from taking medication during the recovery process. If so, we can implement some of the elements of an MAT into the plan that you prefer to follow.

Or, maybe you’re someone who finds that they feel best while working in group settings. If so, we’ll emphasize the group-based elements of your recovery plan so you can get as much out of it as possible.

Addressing Mental Health Disorders and Addictions

At Better Days, we also provide personalized treatment for mental health issues. You can receive this care whether you’re also struggling with substance abuse problems or not.

Our therapists are some of the best that Southern California has to offer. They can help you explore and work through the aspects of your mental health that are keeping you from fulfilling your full potential.

If you also deal with substance abuse problems, your therapist can identify how that is impacting your mental health and vice versa. They can provide you with holistic mental health support so that you can improve each of these aspects of your health simultaneously.
